The Start Replay option in Solace allows the resend (replay) of previously logged messages from the replay log to a selected Queue or Topic Endpoint.
Replay can begin from a specific point—either from the oldest message, a selected date and time, or a replication group message ID.
This feature helps applications retrieve historical messages for recovery or reprocessing missed events.
When replay is initiated, all current messages in the destination queue or topic endpoint are cleared, and any connected clients are disconnected before replayed messages are delivered.
To start a replay:
In the Queues or Topic Endpoints widget, select the object for which you want to start a replay.
From the Selected menu, navigate to:
Commands > Start Replay. The Start Queue Replay dialog opens.
-
Choose one of the following replay options:
Start Replay From The Beginning – Replays all messages from the oldest available message in the replay log.
Start Replay From Date – Replays messages starting from a specific date and time.
Start Replay From Replication Group Message ID – Replays messages beginning from a specific replication group message ID.
After selecting the desired option, click Start to begin the replay immediately, or Schedule to start it later.
(See Scheduling Jobs for more information.)The Confirm Action dialog opens, displaying details about message deletion and client disconnection.
Click Yes to confirm, or Schedule to initiate the replay later.
Once started, Solace replays messages from the replay log to the selected queue or topic endpoint based on the chosen criteria.
A success message appears at the bottom of the console, and after completion, the replay status changes to Complete.
