Updates
Have you used a Deployment Pack?
In response to customers who wanted a simplified installation and deployment mechanism, we offer several distribution models. A deployment pack is a preconfigured environment hosting all of the Nastel Navigator X components. The deployment pack is basically an "unzip and go" package for Linux environments. The default configuration is designed for a basic environment, but by altering settings in a property file, you can easily select a variety of configurations. The deployment packs include a number of commands to assist with starting, stopping, and checking the status of the environment.
We encourage all customers who are performing new installations to use the deployment packs. Any customers on Workgroup Server 10 can easily migrate to a deployment pack while continuing to use an existing database and configuration. Customers who are still on out-of-support versions like Workgroup Server 6 can still use the deployment pack to quickly get migrated to the latest versions. Contact your Technical Account Manager for additional information about using a deployment pack for your environment.
Latest fix packs
We covered the latest version of Nastel Navigator, 10.4.0, in last month's newsletter. The first monthly fix pack, 10.4.0.1, is available. We release a fix pack for the latest release each month. Fix packs for prior versions, such as Nastel Navigator 10.3.0, may not be monthly and depend on the severity of fixes and the customers impacted. For Nastel XRay, fix packs for 1.3.0 and 1.4.0 are also available.
Fix packs of older versions are typically only done on demand. Accordingly, we encourage all customers to be on either the current e-fix version or the e-fix immediately preceding it.

Navigator X Web Security Manager
One of the new features included with Nastel Navigator 10.4 was the Navigator X Web Security Manager, navxwsm. This latest version of the web security manager is currently used solely within Nastel Navigator but will have expanded use in the future. When the original web security manager was released, it was a major improvement from the previous methods. However, what was new at one time becomes dated. It needed to be improved and made more consistent with the rest of the Nastel product offerings. However, in order to minimize the impact of moving to 10.4, we support either the old or new interfaces. Thus, you can continue to use the existing procedures until you have updated them. In order to use navxwsm, there are several requirements and this article covers troubleshooting, should you have issues connecting.
