1. Updates
Nastel Navigator 10 Hotfix 3
The Navigator team recently released hotfix 3 as an add on to build 10.0.6. This is a GUI update only, with no database changes required if you are already running 10.0.6. The key new feature of this release is the ability to share dashboards and views with your teams.
For more information, see this FAQ and product documentation.
If you are running an older version of Navigator, then download the latest package which includes the Workgroup server, database and GUI changes and then apply the hotfix.
Quick Help Access
Did you know that help is only a click away? In Nastel Navigator or Nastel XRay, simply click on the question mark in the upper right corner. This will bring up the Nastel Resource Center where you can access FAQs, articles, how-to videos and product documentation.
Do you have a suggestion for a topic or additional information? Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Nastel Navigator WGS 6
We referenced this in the last newsletter, but if you are running WGS 6, you need to be planning for migration to WGS 10. If you are not sure, which you are running, there are several ways to tell. WGS 6 runs as a process nsqmgr and WGS 10 runs within the AutoPilot CEP server. The version numbers are also 6.x vs 10.x. We are no longer enhancing WGS 6 and many of the new features that Navigator offers rely on WGS 10.
If you need help implementing this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Nastel AutoPilot Service update 30.4
We recently release service update 30.4. This is officially 6.0.30.4 and these 4 digit release numbers are a bit of a special case. We periodically release these for a service level (30.1, 30,2, etc.). These are complete replacement and supersede the previous versions of that service level.
2. FAQs
Articles from the Resource Center:
Nastel XRay: Specifying your default dashboard
When you load a repository, the first dashboard you see is your default dashboard. A dashboard with a green line located at the top of its tab signifies your default dashboard.
To see how to set your default dashboard, see this FAQ.
Nastel Navigator: How can I put messages on queues?
There are a lot of ways to put a message on a queue, but in Nastel Navigator you can put multiple messages on multiple queues even across different queue managers.
To see one method for putting messages, see this FAQ.
Does AutoPilot require AJP to be enabled?
A critical vulnerability CVE-2020-1938 was published. Does this affect AutoPilot functionality?
The sample tomcat application server shipped with AutoPilot products including Navigator and XRay, provides a default tomcat configuration. With versions Apache tomcat versions 7 and 8, AJP is enabled by default. This is not required for AutoPilot applications and can be disabled.
