Resolve Channel

Version 12.x and Later

Use the Resolve Channel option when the link fails during the confirmation period and the connection cannot be reestablished. Only Sender and Cluster Sender channels include this option in their Commands menus.

  1. Select the channel, and then choose Commands > Resolve Channel from the channel’s Selected menu.
  2. The Resolve Channel dialog opens.
  3. Use one of the following options at the bottom of the dialog:
    • Commit—Deletes the in-doubt messages from the transmission queue.
    • Backout—Returns the in-doubt messages to the transmission queue.
    • Channel Properties—Opens the channel properties so you can update the channel. For more information, see Channel Properties.

The Commit and Backout buttons are only enabled when the channel is in INDOUBT state. This means that the channel's sending end does not know if messages were received.

  1. Click Ok when finished.

Version 11.3 and Earlier

  1. From the channel’s pop-up menu, select Commands > Resolve Channel. The Resolve Channel dialog appears.

    The following buttons appear at the bottom of the dialog:
  • Commit:  The in-doubt messages will be deleted from the transmission queue.
  • Backout:  The in-doubt messages are returned to the transmission queue. 
  • Channel Properties:  Update the channel’s properties. See Channel Properties for more information.
