Solace caching includes two related components: Cache Clusters and Cache Instances, each with its own Start command.
Cache Cluster Start activates the overall cluster and prepares it for caching operations. Starting the cluster places it in an operational state, enabling it to coordinate topic data management.
Cache Instance Start brings an individual cache instance online within the cluster. Starting a cache instance transitions it from an inactive state to an active state so it can store and serve cached topic data to clients.
Both components must be started appropriately—clusters first, followed by instances—for caching to function fully.
Start a Cache Cluster or Cache Instance
To start a cache cluster or cache instance:
In the Cache Cluster or Cache Instance widget, select the object you want to start.
From the Selected menu, choose:
Commands > Start. The Confirm Start action dialog opens.
Click Yes to start immediately or Schedule to run the action at a later time.
(See Scheduling Jobs for more information.)
A success message appears at the bottom of the console.
The status updates to indicate that the cluster or instance is now running and ready to participate in caching operations.
