A Resource Group is used to organize related data sources or components in the Observe application. It helps users manage and monitor specific parts of the system more effectively. By grouping resources, users can associate them with relevant monitors, allowing for focused and organized monitoring.
This article explains how to create, view, edit, delete, and associate monitors with Resource Groups, as well as how to activate and stop maintenance for a Resource Group.
To access the Resource Groups page, select Resource Groups from the left-side menu.
Turn on the System Resources toggle to display resource groups created in the Manage application, which are identified by a system icon next to the resource group name.
To learn more about managing columns, refer to Customizing the Interface in Observe.

Associate Monitor
After creating a Resource Group, you can associate a monitor to begin tracking the resources within that group. The monitor will evaluate specific conditions—such as threshold breaches or unusual activity—only for the selected resources.
You can associate a monitor either right after creating the Resource Group by choosing to Associate Monitor, or later by using the Associate Monitor option from the Selected menu.
To associate a monitor
- Select the desired Resource Group.
- Click Associate Monitor from the Selected menu. The Associate Monitor dialog opens.
- Use the Search (Filter By) field to filter available monitors.
- Select the checkbox next to the desired monitor(s).
Optionally, enable Show Selected Only to view only the monitors you've selected. - To view monitor details, click the Preview Monitor
icon. This opens the View Monitor dialog with full monitor details.
- If you wish to create a new monitor, click Create Monitor
to set up a new one.
Follow the Create Monitor instructions to complete setup. - Click Associate to link the selected monitor to the Resource Group.
Once associated, an active monitor icon appears in the Monitors column for that Resource Group.
Clicking the icon opens the View Monitor dialog, displaying the monitor details. Click through the different tabs—Metrics, Expression, Schedule, Notifications, Resource Groups, and Alert Configuration—to view their respective details.
If multiple monitors are associated, click the vertical tabs to switch between them and view different monitors.
