When creating a resource group, the Create Resource Group dialog allows you to filter the data shown in the table to target exactly what you want to monitor. To learn how to create a resource group, see Create Resource Group.
Field-Based Filtering
Use the available fields (such as Workgroup Name, Node Name, Queue Manager Name, or Queue Name) to select values and filter resources directly. These fields help you quickly narrow down results based on exact matches.
The available fields depend on the selected Category and Type.
The arrow icon (→) next to a field (for example, Queue Name) indicates that advanced filters are currently enabled for that field.
Advanced Filtering
If you need more control, each field has an Advanced option. Clicking it opens additional filter options on the right side of the dialog. Use these to include or exclude rows based on flexible match criteria such as patterns or list membership.
Available Filter Types
| Filter | Description |
| Starts With | Matches rows where the field value begins with the entered text. |
| Ends With | Matches rows where the field value ends with the entered text. |
| Contains | Matches rows where the field value contains the entered text anywhere. |
| Regex | Matches rows where the field value satisfies the regular expression you provide. |
| In | Includes rows where the field value exactly equals one of the selected values. |
| Not In | Excludes rows where the field value exactly equals any of the selected values. |
| All | Shows only rows that meet all selected filter conditions. |
Applying a Filter
- Click Advanced under the desired field (for example, Queue Name).
- Select one or more filter types by checking the boxes.
-
Enter your criteria:
- For text filters (Starts With, Ends With, Contains, Regex), type your value or pattern in the adjacent textbox.
- For list filters (In, Not In), click the dropdown and select one or more values.
- Click Ok to apply.
- The Preview screen appears, showing only the rows that match your filter criteria.
You can combine multiple filters. For example, use Starts With and Not In together, and the All condition will ensure only rows satisfying both filters are shown.
Example
To display only queues whose names start with 1234_ and exclude certain ones:
- Click Advanced under Queue Name.
- Check Starts With and enter
1234_. - Check Not In and select any queue names you wish to exclude.
- Click Ok.
The preview table updates to show only those queues beginning with 1234_ and not matching any of your excluded names.
To modify the filters later, click the Edit button under Queue Name.
Attribute Condition Filtering
Use the Attribute Condition section to define additional filtering rules across resource attributes.
- Click the Add Expression
button to add a new condition.
- Select an attribute (for example, Cluster Name or Alteration Date).
- Choose a comparison operator, such as:
- = (equals)
- != (not equals)
- Enter or select the required value.
You can add multiple expressions by clicking Add Expression to further refine the filtering.
To remove a condition, click the delete icon.
This allows you to filter resources based on specific attribute values in addition to field-based and advanced filtering.
