Viewlets can be imported into your dashboard. You can also export viewlets from your dashboard. See instructions below on how to do this.
File formats
Importing: the file formats used to import viewlets are .JSON and .CSV formats.
Exporting: Viewlets are exported in .JSON file format by default, which is discussed in this article. However, depending on the viewlet type, they can also be exported to .SVG or .CSV file formats. Check out the Viewlet menu options article for more information.
How to import a viewlet
- Go to Main Menu and select Import / Export > Viewlets.
- The Import/Export Viewlets dialog box opens.
- Select the Import tab.
- Click Choose File to select the .JSON or .CSV import file.
- Click Import. The viewlet is now added to your database. You can add it to any dashboard by going to the Open Existing Viewlet screen.
How to export a viewlet
- Go to Main Menu and select Import / Export > Viewlets.
- The Import/Export Viewlets dialog box opens.
- Select the Export tab.
- Select all viewlets you would like to export or click the Select All option.
- Click Export. The viewlets are downloaded in .json file format.
Depending on the viewlet type, viewlets can also be exported to .SVG or .CSV file formats. This is done using the Export Viewlet option from the viewlet menu. Check out the Viewlet menu options article for more information.
