Creating Database Tables for Track, DS, Pinot Using jdbcmk Utility

Use the jdbcmk.sh utility to create required database objects during the upgrade process.

Create Track Tables

Ensure that the track.properties file in [PLATFORM_HOME]/sql-scripts/track contains the correct database details before running jdbcmk.sh.

1. Run the jdbcmk utility

   • From your shell run: ./jdbcmk.sh
     

2. From the jdbcmk main menu, select Option 5.
   
   

3. Then select Option 1 from TRACK DATABASE menu, to create Track tables.

Create DS Tables

Ensure that the ds.properties file in [PLATFORM_HOME]/sql-scripts/ds contains the correct database details before running jdbcmk.sh.

1. Run the jdbcmk utility

   • From your shell run: ./jdbcmk.sh
     

2. From the jdbcmk main menu, select Option 4.
   
   

3. Then select Option 1 from DATA SERVICES DATABASE menu, to create DS tables.

Create Pinot Topics and Tables

Ensure that the ZooKeeper, Kafka, and Pinot (Controller, Server, and Broker) services are running and that the ds.properties file in [PLATFORM_HOME]/sql-scripts/ds contains the correct database details before running jdbcmk.sh.

1. Run the jdbcmk utility

   • From your shell run: ./jdbcmk.sh
     

2. From the jdbcmk main menu, select Option 4.
   
   

3. Then select Option 3 from DATA SERVICES DATABASE menu, to create Pinot Topics and tables.
