The content described in this article is available in meshIQ Manage versions 11.2.5 and later.
This article shows how to import and export user and global settings in the Manage application.
The Settings Export/Import feature allows you to transfer configurations such as attribute filters, display schemas, message criteria, and other user preferences between environments. This helps maintain consistency and reduces manual configuration effort.
You can perform this action for both:
- User Settings
- Global Settings
Export User Settings
- Navigate to Settings
on the left toolbar.
- In the User Settings dialog, click Settings Export/Import, and then click Export User Settings.
- The Export User Settings dialog opens, select the required Setting Groups (for example, User Settings, Message Commands, Attribute Filters, and Display Schemas).
- Click Export.
The system downloads a configuration file in JSON format.
Exporting large groups such as Attribute Filters, Display Schemas, and Message Criteria may increase processing time.
Import User Settings
- Navigate to Settings
on the left toolbar.
- In the User Settings dialog, click Settings Export/Import, and then click Import User Settings.
- The Import Viewlet dialog opens, click Choose File, and select the JSON file from your local system.

The system applies the imported settings to the current user configuration.
Export Global Settings
- Navigate to Settings
on the left toolbar.
- In the User Settings dialog, click Edit global settings.
- In the Global Settings dialog, click Settings Export/Import, and then click Export Global Settings.
- The Export User Settings dialog opens, select the required Setting Groups (for example, User Settings, Message Commands, Attribute Filters, and Display Schemas).
- Click Export.
The system downloads the global settings as a JSON file.

on the left toolbar.
