Create a Durable
There are two ways to create a Durable:
From scratch
By copying an existing Durable
Option 1: Create a Durable from Scratch
Open the Durable widget.
Click the Add EMS Durable
button.
The Select Object Path dialog opens.
- Specify the object path for the new Durable.
Click Select path. The EMS Durable Create Window opens.
Enter the configuration details for the new Durable.
- After entering all required information, click Ok to create the new Durable, or click Schedule to create the Durable at a later time (see Scheduling).
Option 2: Create a Durable by Copying an Existing One
Select the checkbox for the Durable you want to copy.
From the Selected menu, choose Commands > Copy As.
The Copy Durable dialog opens.
Enter a new name for the Durable.
Modify any configuration settings as needed for the new Durable.
After entering all required information, click Ok to create the new Durable, or click Schedule to create the Durable at a later time (see Scheduling).

Version 11.3 and Earlier
There are two ways to create a durable: you can create one from scratch or you can create a new one that is based on an existing one.
To create a Durable:
- Choose one of the following:
- Create a new Durable from scratch:
- Click the Add
button in a Durable viewlet. The Select Object Path window opens.
- Specify the object path of the new durable.
- Click Select path. The EMS Durable Create Window opens.
- Click the Add
- Create a new Durable based on an existing one:
- Select the checkbox for the existing durable.
- On the actions pop-up menu (Selected menu from version 11.2 onwards), select Commands > Copy As. The Copy Durable Window opens.
- Update the name for the new object.
- Create a new Durable from scratch:
- Specify the configurations of the new durable.
- Click Ok.
