When you click the Add button within an object’s widget, the Select Object Path dialog opens. This dialog allows you to fully customize the path for the new object. The available fields vary depending on the object type.
Specify Paths
- Select the Workgroup server (WGS), Node, and Queue manager to define a specific path for the new object.
- Use the drop-down menus to select values, or manually enter them in the fields.
- To create the object in all nodes and queue managers of the selected workgroup server, leave an asterisk (
*) in the relevant fields. - You can select multiple nodes and queue managers at once; a new object will be created for each combination.
- Click Select path to save.
Remove Selections
To remove unwanted selections, click the X icon next to the item name. To clear an entire field, click the X icon on the right side of the field.
When is the Select Object Path Dialog Displayed?
The Select Object Path dialog is displayed when creating various types of objects across different widgets. This dialog is available for products such as IBM MQ, ActiveMQ, Kafka, TIBCO EMS, IIB/ACE, Solace, and RabbitMQ.

Specify Paths
- Select the workgroup server, node, and queue manager to create a specific path for the new object.
- Use the drop-down menus to select your options, or type your entries into the fields. Leave an asterisk to create a new object in every node and queue manager of the selected WGS.
- You can select Multiple nodes and queue managers can be selected at a time; a new object will be created in each selection.
- Click Select path to save.
Remove Selections
To remove unwanted selections, click the X icon immediately to the left of an item’s name, or clear an entire field by clicking the X icon on the right side of the field.

Starting with version 11.2.4, the ActiveMQ product is introduced. The Select Object Path dialog opens when creating ActiveMQ viewlets.
