This article will guide you through the process of creating a Solace Rest Consumer.
Rest consumer allows the Solace event broker to establish a connection to consumer application. This connection is established by sending an HTTP post message to Rest application and receive a 200 OK HTTP response from it. The format of HTTP post request and response received can be configured.
Before creating the Rest Consumer, you must establish a Solace Manager connection. To learn how, click on Create Remote Solace Manager Connection.
Create a Solace Rest Consumer
You can create a Solace Rest Consumer by following these steps:
- Open the Solace Rest Consumer viewlet, click the Add button

- The Select Object Path window will open. Specify the Workgroup server, Node, Broker, Message VPN and RDP then click Select path. To learn how to create an RDP, refer to Create a Solace RDP.
By default, all available Workgroup servers, Nodes, Brokers, Message VPNs and RDPs are selected. If you want to limit the selection, you must explicitly choose which ones to include. - The Solace Rest Consumer Create Window will open. Enter the Rest Consumer Name (required) and populate other needed details.
- Click Ok to create the Rest Consumer immediately. Alternatively, click Schedule to create it at a future time (see Scheduling for details).
- Now, go to the Rest Consumer viewlet to see the newly added object. If you can't find it, refresh the viewlet using the Refresh
icon.
