This article explains how to create a Solace client username and add attributes to it.
Client usernames are contained within a specific message VPN and are used by client applications to authenticate with the event broker. They can be used to make multiple client connections. You can create a client username and add its attributes by following these steps:
Before creating the client username, you must establish a Solace Manager connection. To learn how, click on Create Remote Solace Manager Connection.
Create a Client Username
- Open the Client Usernames viewlet.
- Click
in the Client Usernames viewlet to open the Select Object Path dialog.
- Specify the Workgroup server, Node, Broker, and Message VPN, then click Select Path.
By default, all available Workgroup servers, Nodes, Brokers, and Message VPNs are selected. If you want to limit the selection, you must explicitly choose which ones to include.
- The Solace Client Username Create window opens.
- Enter the configuration in the General tab, and then click Ok to create the client username immediately. Alternatively, click Schedule to create it at a future time (see Scheduling for details).
-
Now, go to the Client Username viewlet to see the newly added object. If you can't find it, refresh the viewlet using the Refresh icon.
.
Add an Attributes for the Client User
- Select the username, within the Client Username viewlet.
-
From the Selected menu, click on Attributes.
-
The Attributes panel will display in the Console panel. Click the
icon to open the Solace Client Username Attribute dialog. Enter the details and click Ok.
Delete an Attribute
To delete an attribute, select its checkbox, then choose Delete from the selected menu. A confirmation dialog will open; click Yes to confirm the deletion.
