Version 12.x and Later
By default, a widget reflects the sort method set up in the selected schema. The primary and secondary sort methods are denoted by the numbers 1 and 2 next to the column labels. The arrow at the right of the column header indicates whether the data is sorted in ascending (up arrow ˄) or descending (down arrow ˅) order. To go back to the widget’s default sort method, click the Default Table Sorting button.
If the widget’s schema includes both primary and secondary sort methods, and arrows are displayed in both column headers. To change the primary and secondary sort methods:
- Click the header of the new column that you set as the primary sort method. The number 1 is added to denote the primary sort method.
- Click the header of the column that you set as the secondary sort method. The number 2 is added to denote the secondary sort method.
After completing the steps above, if you remove the sort from one of the columns, data is sorted by the remaining column.
As stated above, to revert to the widget’s default sort method, click the Default Table Sorting . You can also turn off all sorting by repeatedly clicking each column header that has an arrow until its arrow is removed.
The first time you clicked a column header other than one already used for sorting, the column that was clicked would be used for the secondary sort. You could turn off the secondary sort to revert to the primary sort method.
The example below shows a primary sort by Queue Manager Description and a secondary sort by Manager Name.

Version 11.3 and Earlier
By default, a viewlet reflects the sort method set up in the selected schema. In version 11.1.1, the primary and secondary sort methods are denoted by the numbers 1 and 2 next to the column labels. The arrow at the right of the column header indicates whether the data is sorted in ascending (up arrow ˄) or descending (down arrow ˅) order. To go back to the viewlet’s default sort method, click the Default table sorting button: in version 11.1.1 and later or
in previous versions).
If the viewlet’s schema includes both primary and secondary sort methods, numbers (v. 11.1.1) and arrows are displayed in both column headers. To change the primary and secondary sort methods:
- Click the header of the new column that you want to use for the primary sort method. In version 11.1.1, the number 1 is added to denote the primary sort method.
- Control-click (or Alt-click) the header of the column that you want to use for the secondary sort method. In version 11.1.1, the number 2 is added to denote the secondary sort method.
After completing the steps above, if you remove the sort from one of the columns, data is sorted by the remaining column.
As stated above, to revert to the viewlet’s default sort method, click the Default table sorting button ( or
). You can also turn off all sorting by repeatedly Control-clicking or Alt-clicking each column header that has an arrow until its arrow is removed.
In versions prior to 10.5.0.1, sorting functionality was different from that described above.
In version 10.5.0, if a viewlet is sorted by two columns (whether based on a schema or set manually), then clicking on a third column turns off the primary sort column. If a viewlet is sorted by one column (whether based on a schema or set manually), then when you click a second column, it is used as a secondary sort method.
Before version 10.5.0, the first time you clicked a column header other than one already used for sorting, the column that was clicked would be used for the secondary sort. You could turn off the secondary sort to revert to the primary sort method.
The example below shows a primary sort by Manager Name and a secondary sort by Channel Type.
