Version 12.x and Later

You can delete one or more messages by selecting them while browsing messages in the Console panel. For information about removing all messages from a queue, see Removing Messages: Delete All and Clear All.

Kafka messages cannot be deleted individually. If you try to delete one or more Kafka messages, you will receive a prompt will get prompt asking you to confirm whether you want to clear all messages from the topic or partition.

Delete Selected Messages

To delete selected messages, do one of the following:

• In the Console tab, select the messages you want to delete and click the Delete icon.

• Or, in the Console tab, select the messages you want to delete and choose Delete Message from the Selected menu.
  

A Confirm Delete Action dialog appears. Click Yes to confirm the deletion, or click No to cancel the action.

Delete a Range of Messages

You can also delete a range of messages using the Delete Range option in the Console tab.

1. Select the From and To message numbers from the drop-down lists.

2. Click the Delete button.
   

A Confirm Delete Action dialog appears. Click Yes to confirm the deletion, or click No to cancel the action. All messages within the selected range are deleted.

To delete selected messages, choose one of the following:

• select the desired messages from a Messages viewlet and click the Delete icon ( in previous versions), or
• select the desired messages from the Messages viewlet and select Delete Message (or Delete Messages) from the Action menu (Selected menu in 11.2).
  

Click Yes to confirm the action or No to cancel.

• From version 11.2.3 onwards, you can also delete a range of messages using the Delete Range option in the Console tab. Select the From and To message numbers from the drop-downs, then click on Delete button.
