The Messages Restore feature in a Solace Cache Instance allows you to import previously backed-up cached messages from a backup file. This is useful for restoring cache state after maintenance, system recovery, or reloading cached data for testing. You can also cancel an ongoing restore operation using the Cancel Messages Restore option.

A cache instance must be fully shut down before performing a restore operation.
Restore Cached Messages
To restore cached messages to a cache instance:
In the Cache Instance widget, select the cache instance you want to restore messages to.
From the Selected menu, choose Commands > Messages Restore.
The Restore Object Messages dialog opens.
The backup file name associated with the cache instance appears in the File Name field.
Verify the file name and click Confirm to proceed.A Confirm Messages Restore Action dialog opens.
Click Yes to start the restore immediately, or Schedule to run it at a later time.

If the cache instance is not shut down, an error dialog appears stating that the instance must be shut down before the restore can proceed.
Shut down the instance, then retry the restore operation.

To cancel an ongoing restore:
In the Cache Instance widget, select the cache instance that is currently performing the restore.
From the Selected menu, choose Commands > Cancel Messages Restore.
A Confirm Cancel Message Restore action dialog opens, showing the selected cache instance details.
Click Yes to cancel immediately or Schedule to cancel at a later time.
