This article discusses how to implement a policy that will send you an e-mail notification 30 days prior (number of days is configurable) to the expiration date of your AutoPilot M6 license. This will give you plenty of time to take action to obtain a new license.
See My license is expiring, how do I get a new one? for instructions on how to obtain your new license. Also checkout Updating your expiring AutoPilot M6 license for instructions on how to install your new license.
Example policy
An example policy is included with your AutoPilot M6 installation. If you do not have it, you can download it HERE. We will be using the policy sensor titled, Maximum days left until license expires.
Configure the sensor
Using the figures below as an example, configure the sensor’s alert and environment properties through the Policy Wizard to setup notification alerts via e-mail. A warning alert is issued 30 days prior to the license's expiration date. Critical alerts are issued when the license expires in 15 days or less.
For the sensor's properties, right click on the sensor and select Properties from the menu.
On the Environment tab, set the number of days for DAYS_HIGH and DAYS_LOW.
