How to run multiple Enterprise Manager with different SU versions on the same server

To run another instance of the Enterprise Manager on the same machine, please do the following:

1. Make a copy of the [AUTOPILOT_HOME] directory (for example, C:\nastel\AutoPilotM6\), and give it a suitable name. For example: C:\nastel2\AutoPilotM6\.
   You will now have two directories:
   • C:\nastel\AutoPilotM6
   • C:\nastel2\AutoPilotM6
2. Modify the C:\nastel2\AutoPilotM6\mconsole\ATPCONS.lax variable set for the LAX.DIR:

        # LAX.DIR
        # -------
        # path to directory holding LaunchAnywhere's native launcher
        lax.dir=C:\\nastel2\\AutoPilotM6\\mconsole\\

3.  Upgrade to a different SU version by executing C:\nastel2\AutoPilotM6\bin\apman.exe and install the required SUs.
4. Run the desired Enterprise Manager SU version: navigate to the corresponding folder and execute ATPCONS.exe.

For example

• For SU31.x, double-click on C:\apps\nastel\AutoPilotM6\mconsole\ATPCONS.exe.
• For SU35.x, double-click on C:\apps\nastel2\AutoPilotM6\mconsole\ATPCONS.exe.

Give the new version a different icon (Optional)

The following steps are optional but recommended so that you can easily differentiate between the two versions.

1.  Create a Shortcut:  

• • Right-click on the file (C:\nastel2\AutoPilotM6\mconsole\ATPCONS.exe) for which you want to change the icon.
  • Select Create shortcut.

2. Access Shortcut Properties:

• • Right-click on the newly created shortcut.
  • Select Properties.

3. Change the Icon:

• • In the "Shortcut" tab, click on the Change Icon... button.
  • Browse for the icon file you want to use. Windows typically looks for .ico files, but you can also use .dll or .exe files that contain icons.
  • Select the icon and click OK. 

4. Apply and Save:

• • Click Apply and then OK to save the changes. You should then see ATPCONS.exe - Shortcut with the icon you selected.

5. To pin the shortcut to your taskbar for quick access to it later, right-click on ATPCONS.exe - Shortcut and select Pin to taskbar. You can also execute it from the C:\nastel2\AutoPilotM6\mconsole\ directory.
