This article will guide you through the process of creating a Solace Cache Cluster and Cache Instance.
A Cache Cluster is a collection of one or more Cache Instances that subscribe to exactly the same topics. Cache Instances are grouped together in a Cache Cluster for the purpose of fault tolerance and load balancing. As published messages are received, the event broker message bus sends these live data messages to the Cache Instances in the Cache Cluster. This enables client cache requests to be served by any of Cache Instances in the Cache Cluster.
Before creating the Cache Cluster, you must establish a Solace Manager connection. To learn how, click on Create Remote Solace Manager Connection.
Create a Solace Cache Cluster
You can create a Solace Cache Cluster by following these steps:
- Open the Solace Cache Cluster viewlet, click the Add button
.
- The Select Object Path window will open. Specify the Workgroup server, Node, Broker, Message VPN and Distributed Cache then click Select path. To learn how to create an Distributed Cache, refer to Create a Distributed Cache.
By default, all available Workgroup servers, Nodes, Brokers, Message VPNs and Distributed Caches are selected. If you want to limit the selection, you must explicitly choose which ones to include. - The Solace Cache Cluster Create Window will open. Create a Solace Cache Instance
A Cache Instance is a single Cache process that belongs to a single Cache Cluster. At least one Cache Instance is required for a Cache Cluster, and maximum up to 16 can be used. Cache Instances listen for and cache live data messages that match the topic subscriptions configured for their parent Cache Cluster.
Before creating the Cache Instance, you must establish a Solace Manager connection. To learn how, click on Create Remote Solace Manager Connection.
