meshIQ components using TCP ports can be encrypted, but not every service port can be configured with SSL. Component port 8080, used by the web server, can be secured through HTTPS by enabling SSL within the web server configuration (for example, Apache Tomcat). Please see the XRay Installation Guide and the Navigator Workgroup Server Expert V10 Installation Guide for information on setup.
It is suggested to use a Citrix server for single point access of meshIQ web applications: Navigator, XRay, AutoPilot M6 console, Navigator Classic; meshIQ fat client applications: Enterprise Manager, APWMQ Explorer. These applications will then only be accessible via Citrix.
The central components, displayed on the diagram below as domain, CEP and web servers, all communicate via TCP ports locally. These components can be integrated with LDAP security, set up with valid signed certificates. Please see the Autopilot M6 Installation Guide and Navigator Workgroup Server Expert V10 Installation Guide for information on setup.
To use encrypted conversation between local agent and workgroup server, use option +E. As seen in the example below, this is the command argument option that tells the agent to enable encrypted conversation.
Check out the Navigator Workgroup Server Administrator's Guide in the archived documentation article for all applicable command-line arguments.
